There has never been a better time to not only teach Human-centered Design, but to re-examine what it is and what it means to us as designers and practitioners. 

Why?

When young people learn Human-centered Design skills, they’re able to see human perspectives, needs, and experiences translate into solutions to the challenges around us. They understand that collaboration and participation are vital to creating new and equitable ideas.

How?

Humans Designing fosters conversation around Human-centered Design and what that means today, while highlighting designers in the field to celebrate their work and their challenges.

Humans Designing utilizes Instagram’s platform to create workshop experiences that encourage students to learn at their own pace through a mix of asynchronous and live sessions.

There are a LOT of different approaches and methods for Design Thinking, with many different numbers of phases. This approach is just one of them, and it uses 4 phases.
The four phases we use are Feel, Imagine, Do, and Share.
It’s important to remember that Design Thinking, no matter which method you use, is non-linear. That means you may zig-zag and bounce around depending on what you learn or discover as you go!
Don’t forget: the work you put out there impacts the world YOU live in... even if it’s designed for someone else. Your work should always be in the service of bettering the world around you.
